Yes, a video game sequel is also in production in addition to the movie, though Vincent Valentine is slated to be the main character this time around. Dirge of Cerberus takes place one year after the events of Advent Children, and pits Vincent against a new enemy simply known as "DC" ("Dirge of Cerberus"?); this is more than likely what the rumors of a Devil May Cry style Final Fantasy VII game were based off of. Other than that, not much else is known about the new title, though the few images released seem to hint at Nibelheim and the surrounding reactor being a location -- hopefully this also means Tifa and Cloud, two of Nibelheim's only survivors, will make some sort of an appearance, though word of Reeve's return has also sounded (he's ALIVE!). Regardless, I would suspect -- should this game be concentrated in the aforementioned town -- that this game will do more to delve into Vincent's past as well as further expand of the horrific experiments done behind closed doors (silver-haired men can be seen in the distance of one particular shot. More Sephiroth clones?); surely there's lots of room for an action/survival horror title to flourish in the creepy settings that town has to offer.

ff7 new game Dirge of Cerberus?

Square Enix has recently announced that Advent Children will make another appearance near the end of October, at the Tokyo CG Festival.

On October 30, Shinji Hashimoto will present the making of the 90-minute movie. Then, a new presentation of more than one hour will occur, containing material NOT SHOWN at the Venice International Film Festival.

It has been said that Advent Children still might be getting a release date in 2004. Information during the Venice film Festival spoke however of a release at the beginning of 2005 - let's just wait and see!

The Story, Of AC

- The Advent Children are a group of "chosen" children, and the main point of the story is to "rescue them." The opening lines in the movie are spoken by a little girl, and they are something like: "Once upon a time, there was a warrior who defeated the evil known as Sephiroth. His name was...Cloud Strife."
- Every character from the game will be featured in the film, and the reason they have not been shown is because they are still working on them. Overall, work in the graphics department is 10% complete, and the characters will be constantly evolving. In other words, the characters we've seen are not their final designs. 20 principal characters will be featured in the film, and some confirmed names are Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, Vincent, and Aeris ("in some form or another").
- The Turks may also make an appearance.
- Cloud doesn't only fight people, he will also face some "terrible monsters."


Perhaps the chosen children are those immune to Star Scar. Therefore Cloud must search for them. advent meant: The coming or arrival, especially of something extremely important. So it must be really important children. I like theory #2. It would make the most sense to me. They might be the cure to the Star Mark Syndome. Cloud must protect them, when they come.
